We’ll call this a micro shoot. After a morning photography session in the Hollywood Hills Chris and I organized to meet with Dawn and Joe at the nearby Farmers Market for a client meeting. Since these two adorable people share a passion for PinkBerry we found a booth and talked about life, love and marriage over some tasty and good for you yogurt. Twenty minutes into the meeting Chris decided to break out the camera, his pretense being that he needed to finish off our final roll from the morning’s shoot so we could drop it off at the lab on the way home. Thus was born the idea of a “micro shoot.” We figure, what better way for potential clients to evaluate us than to actually experience having us take their pictures? So, future prospective JAC brides, don’t be afraid to strike a pose during a consult meeting, Chris just might oblige!

p.s. Thankfully this camera assault by Chris didn’t stop Dawn and Joe from booking us a few days later, we can’t wait for their wedding in San Clemente next August!

fly fishing | utah

When I was a freshman in high school I saw “A River Runs Through It” and thought fly fishing looked like one of the coolest things a man could do on this earth. Of course, being a city boy, it took me a good decade and a half to actually get around to doing it. All I can say is, it was definitely worth the wait. As you can see, I spent most of my time taking pictures:) Despite being snow melt from the mountains surrounding us, the water was actually steaming in comparison to the brisk morning air (27 degrees!). With nothing but the sound of the river and the laughter of friends, this was a morning I’ll never forget…Even if we didn’t catch a fish!

Ethan, best of friends since fourth grade. Every year Ethan organizes a trip for the “fellas,” such a faithful and dear friend. When we were in fifth grade we used to see these two old timers playing chess at McDonald’s. We always promised each other that one day, that would be us.

Randy, Ethan’s business partner and an all around awesome guy. Also, should be noted that Randy has two of everything and is the best person to adventure with as he comes prepared. Unlike Ethan and I Randy is not a city boy and is at home in the outdoors.

Jason, the best fisher of the four of us and another outdoorsman. Jason actually did catch a fish, but it was a little fella so we pardoned it and tossed in back in the river.

The Intern | Dots Cupcakes Pasadena

Kira started her first internship at Dots in Pasadena. Those that know us know we’re pretty much addicted to Dots Cupcakes. Not only do they taste good, but they are 100% calorie free. I made that last part up.
Anyway, we’ve been going to Dots for years and the owner has become a dear friend and she knew Kira loved to bake and felt it would be good to expose Kira to the life of a baker and business owner! What a great experience for Kira. She has learned so much already and we feel blessed to know that she has such a great mentor to inspire her dreams.

Kira became massively embarrassed before I could get a shot of the cupcakes, so a friendly customer obliged:)

A few more on the way home, I waited for three hours for her to get off work, I know, I know, I need to let go, just so proud!

The Holy family Church Fair happens every fall and is full of fun games and rides!

There was a small animal pen set up by “Socal Party Animals”, this was one of two of the girls that works at the farm where the animals lived.

Elsie and I took a ride on the ferris wheel. Right before we got going we paused for a minute up top, she grabbed my arm and then apprehensively muttered, “I think this is going to be scary or fun.” Then the ferris wheel dropped and her reaction was priceless!
