Welcome to the JAC photography blog.  Sometimes people call us looking for JAC, so let us spare you (or is it us?) the embarrassment by letting you in our our ACRONYMonious secret: JAC is not one but two people, Jamie and Chris, we’re a South Pasadena based husband and wife photography team.  This blog is where we post all our personal and professional work, you’ll find weddings, commercial shoots, portraits and tons, and I mean tons, of polaroids.  If you’re new to our work please do visit our website!  Also on the right are links to learn more about us, subscribe to this blog, and links to get info regarding pricing and availability.

Vivian and James

You might remember Vivian and James’ engagement shoot out at one of our favorite new locations. Well the wedding picked right up where the e-session left off, this time at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. Such a wonderful venue to photograph and a perfect setting for a relaxed and unforgettable wedding. Vivian looked amazing and James was the picture of cool, loved every detail and every color choice down to James tie and socks. And Vivian’s dress, perfection!
On to the pictures. Geeky details, all black and whites shot on either kodak cn400bw or ilford 3200 on leica m4, and all color taken on fuji 400h. There is a reason I shoot film and this is it.

Dawn+ Joe

So, so excited for their wedding next month.

hawaii

jamie and i got to sneak away for a few days of rest and relaxation in hawaii. four days, one moped accident and one 15 hour flight ordeal later we are home. funny thing, all i remember is the laughing. which is exactly why i love this girl so much.
aforementioned moped accident happened day one, which killed any beach time for jamie, but she still put her feet in the water and made the most of it.
all in all, an adventure we will never forget, and one that makes us long for sweet days of nothing at home, a treasure far to rare these days for us.

it’s like we’re seeing our wedding for the first time! looking at a print vs. that online viewer. omg, there is such a huge difference. i now have like 100 favorite favorite favorites. they are so perfect. so very perfect.

whoever the heck prints your photos is a GOD. seriously. these prints are stunning.”

Sunny Days and Lemonade

hoping to provide a healthy and nostalgic alternative to video games and you tube, I urged the kids to set up a lemonade stand in the front yard last week. as incentive I told them I’d match what they made on the first day. we live a few blocks from high school and i figured the students passing by on their way home from summer school would provide some good business.
caleb and cam quickly learned that elsie’s best use was attracting customers so they stood by and watched the customers roll in while elsie danced in the street. with a few hefty tips they made $30, and with my matching funds they cleared $60 in all.
I thought this would really inspire them to make this a regular thing. But instead they went and bought a video game and a slip and slide and want nothing more to do with selling lemonade. I can’t win.

Matthew and Erica

Matthew and Erica are doctors in residency. Every day they see things that would make me faint and hide in a supply closet. What they do helps me put what I do in perspective. Plus, they are super fun to hang out with! These were taken on a cloudy summer day in Belmont Shores area of Long Beach. Walking the streets felt like stepping back in time a bit.
